Like everyone else, I’m wondering where in the hell did 2017 go? Life just seems to be moving exponentially quicker as the kids get older. 2017 was my best year in being involved with my kids at home and their extracurricular activities. I averaged about 2 weddings a month, which is definitely ideal for me and finally learned how to turn down inquiries.
I’m not one to really make any resolutions but I know where I need to improve on. As I look back on the past year (feels weird saying that) and I think about things that have (and haven’t) happened, there’s a sense of guilt with the relationship I share with my son. As an outsider looking in, it’s pretty obvious that my daughter gets away with more and gets more of my attention. I’m not too sure if its a father-son thing, but I’m awfully strict on him and I know its because of the potential I see in him. He’s often pushed too hard by me and I’d hate to have him grow up and wish he had a ‘normal’ childhood. This year, I look to improve my relationship with him, do more things with him that he enjoys and honestly, just be his friend again. Here’s to taking a step back, enjoying everyday as its our last, working smarter, and spending your life living. 2018, we are ready for you.
